Black bird by Pokoa Black bird by Pokoa
A few days ago i saw this picture by ~MirrorCradle :[link]

and i just wanted to do a painting of it, so i did :)

I accidently saved over the higher-res version of it, hehe, i do that often, silly me, so i guess im done working on this for now. Lets just ignore the little unfinished spots!

Anyways, i was practicing my photoshops a bit, i think im getting pretty good at it, but i still love real paint so much more!

*i dunno if its my video card that is so crappy, but everything looks all oil-stained choppy-gradiants jpg-crumbs and poopinpiss on this computer...*

it's really good, especially the skintone.. as for some tips i think you could use some more variety in colors, especially when it comes to hair, they seem a bit too flat, with not enough tones.. try adding some more "random" colors to get more realistic look, for example when i paint light blonde hair i'm always finding that using some purples and greens in it creates a more realistic outcome..

still looks realy good, though :)

thanks for the tips, i still need a lot more practice with hair especially, i also find it hard to make smaller strands of hair that stand out from the rest.

I've been looking at other artists to see how they work, like Jason chan, is one of my favorites...

thanks :)

well, yes, they have to, i could sum up all tutorials in just one sentence, it's basically "just practice more" :D really, what else smart can anyone say? i only find tutorials useful for some little technical tips abot color mixing and such or for some program-oriented hints etc..

Wow! This is awesome! I think you're the first artist to get my nose bang on. Thanks for using my stock!

thanks! it was my pleasure!
your nose looks a bit like mine, with that sort of bumb/curve in it, so maybe that made it easier for me!
